Infective Perspective seeks to bring communities together in a discussion of news, scientific advancements, and current issues relevant to infectious diseases around the world. Communicable illnesses that should be on the verge of eradication are making a comeback, and our highly interconnected planet is susceptible to spreading new or existing pathogens. Old infections are returning to regions that previously wiped them out, and they remain a paramount problem in other parts of the globe. Information gaps between the research, policy, and medical fields as well as the general public are suppressing the potential of modern interdisciplinary efforts against global plagues. Furthermore, stigma is high against many infectious diseases worldwide, and this is due at least in part to the spread of inaccurate or insufficient information. Infective Perspective provides a platform through which infectious disease-related current events are compiled, essential research is explained, and critical public health issues are discussed. Articles are written by students (undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral) seeking to share their work and the work of others with a general audience.
